1. The most unfortunate thing about blogs is that they end up narrating in a backwards fashion. Since the most recent posts appear first, they create a chronology that correctly reflects the thought patterns of the thinker (who builds upon the foundation of earlier thoughts), but they appear to the reader as a reverse chronology. In other words, the only way a reader can avoid confusion is to read the blogs as they occur -- by checking the blog on a daily basis.

2. It seems to me that the tapestry community has developed a sense of statis during this past month. Perhaps it is a lull right before fall with its reminder that the year is about to end, with its flurry of activity to harvest, with its pressure to finish up before time runs out. The summer heat has emptied everyone of thought and motivation while things ripen.

3. I keep telling myself that I am blind to what is going on under the surface of the fiber community. Something is changing... maybe "something" is made up of my changing perceptions and expectations. I can't put my finger on it. I feel different about tapestry and about the fiber world. Why? What has changed? What is going on?
